BULAHDELAH’S Patrick Bramston had his 15 minutes of fame last week, with an appearance on the Nine Network’s Millionaire Hot Seat.
In the ‘Fastest Finger First’ preliminary round, Patrick hit the top of the leader board after answering 12 of the 14 questions correctly in the fastest time.
He also locked in the correct answer for the final question of the round, but narrowly missed the $1,000 prize after being pipped at the post by a fraction of a second.
Patrick said his extensive general knowledge comes from television.
“It comes from watching documentaries and having a good memory, television is good for trivia,” he said.
Wearing his Mount View Motel jacket, Patrick moved into the big money round and landed in the Hot Seat in front of host, Eddie McGuire, after the first contestant passed on the $300 question.
The question asked: “The 2017 film ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ has what classification rating in Australia?”
Under the rules of the game, Patrick was unable to pass and had to provide an answer within 30 seconds, but bowed out after incorrectly selecting PG.
Patrick said he is a fan of show and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
“I did enjoy going down to Melbourne and seeing what happens behind the scenes,” he said.
“I also got a chance to promote the town and the motel which is priceless to us.”
Patrick said he applied to be a contestant on the show four years ago by filling out an online questionnaire.
