The Reference Group met on Friday 1 November chaired by Councillor Roberts and attended by Council engineers and representatives from North Arm Cove, Pindimar Bundabah, Bulahdelah, Progress Assn and Myall River Action Group.

Council reminds us of the forthcoming community event as a follow up to the meeting earlier this year where important issues were tabled.
Find out the results emanating from that meeting and be prepared to voice your priorities for the following year.
The meeting will be held at the Baptist Church Tea Gardens on 26 November.
Council is also aware of a desire to achieve greater pedestrian and mobility access, with improved footpath and cycleway connections.
This ambition is Shire wide and Council have appointed a specialised consultant, Stantec to undertake an independent review.
Your input is vital to develop a Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP) and Council urges this community to be part of this initiative.
A community meeting has been scheduled at the Baptist Church Tea Gardens on Thursday 5 December at 6pm and all are urged to attend. Should you not be able to attend on the night, you can access www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/PAMP and complete a short survey. This facility will be open from Monday 18 November.
A number of other issues were raised, of which the following will be of interest.
• The residents of the Dunshea Estate have been reporting serious accident potential on the corner of Penn Drive and Myall Street. The problem has been trees planted on the median strip, obstructing drivers’ views on oncoming traffic. Council were required to follow a lengthy protocol and we are pleased to report the sigh of relief from those residents when the trees were removed this week.
• Council have arranged an inspection and much needed repair and improvement to the Moira Pde. boat ramp. We are still on the waiting list for upgrades to the ramps in Tea Gardens.
• The lack of rubbish bins in Hawks Nest is recognised, however garbage removal seems to be a law unto its’ own and the bin situation will remain as is for the foreseeable future.
• The Council owned property on Myall St and designated as a future car park is still some time away. Plans have been drawn up and the lack of toilet facilities was discussed at length. Council are reluctant to install that amenity due cost and maintenance, whereas we argue that such a facility is needed to cater for the growing tourist trade. To be continued
• The Rural Fire Service has reported missing and unworkable fire hydrants throughout the area.
Council will follow up the important matter, particularly in the face of a potential severe fire season
