The Men’s Pairs Championship final this Thursday will be the climax of an exciting and very high quality competition.
President Sam Rees said, “The standard of play this year has been unprecedented and this Thursday’s final between Greg Brown and Greg Pearson against Chris Ross and Scot Fitzalan should be an absolute cracker.”
The Ladies Weekend Pennant commenced this last Saturday and both Karuah teams kicked off with good wins.
Although one was convincing, the other was only by one shot, but the close ones are always the sweetest.
Ladies President Helen Priest said, ‘There will be some great team bowling coming up for Ladies who work and can’t play mid week, next games are this Saturday at home so good luck ladies.”
This last week also saw the final of the Ladies Club Championship Minor Singles.
This very competitive game saw the very popular Judy Green defeat Kerry Faber, herself a popular and very skilful bowler in a wonderful game played at a very high standard.
Robyn Latimore, a good judge of bowlers said, “Both these girls will go on to great things and Judy who only recently began serious bowling has shown she is a real competitor who will go far in the sport.”
Club refurbishments are now underway at the Club and while a bit restrictive for spectators have seen the high quality Karuah green unaffected and still playing beautifully.
