TUESDAY 31st January was the first day of school for 2017’s kindy kids at St Michael’s Primary School in Nelson Bay.
Parents mingled with staff as the children began to meet each other and make friends.
For some, it was a sad occasion and for others, it was less so.
Kindy kids are matched with a Mighty Mate from Year 6 to help guide them at the beginning of school.
Principal Helen Bourne told News Of The Area, “It is fantastic that these students will be able to have a Catholic education from K-12 on the Tomaree Peninsula. Primary schooling at St Michael’s and for secondary, the new Catherine McAuley Catholic College at Medowie.”
