A YOUTH leadership program based in Port Stephens has inspired and motivated youth at Tomaree High School.
The Real Futures Foundation Ambassador program at Tomaree High School is about taking on leadership and developing skills.
The program is designed to motivate, inspire and engage the Real Futures Foundation ambassadors.
The leadership training conducted in May at Pacific Blue Resort in Salamander Bay focused on assisting the students with communication skills and working with others.
The leadership training was facilitated by national and international presenter Heidi Alexandra Pollard, CEO of UQ Power.
The Foundation’s student ambassadors completed a personal communication style inventory (PCSI) recently, learning that these differences exist and the most effective way to work with others who may have different personality traits.
The students were also challenged to develop and deliver their own presentation to their peers.
The ambassadors also completed a four-step communication program.
Outcomes from the evaluation survey undertaken by students in the program showed overwhelming agreement on the program’s success and the desire for the Foundation to deliver similar programs in the future to other students.
Stephen Jennings, the Real Futures Foundation’s Programs Manager, told the News Of The Area, “The Real Futures Foundation is proud to be able to bring such quality programs to the students and is developing new programs to be run throughout the year.”
Coming up for the Foundation is a Careers Information session to be held on 20 June.
Twenty industries will be represented, and this will allow students the opportunity to speak to people working in industries that they may be considering for their future.
