In the opening round of the Streets Surf Boat Series at Terrigal on Sunday TGHN Surf Clubs Boat Crews excelled in tricky and challenging surf conditions.
The Open Women’s Crew swept by James Fitzpatrick – Equal First after 3 races with two firsts and a second.
First carnival for Susie Webb – did so so well – and first carnival for the Quinn sisters for TGHN.
They improved all day and will just continue to get better as the season progresses. Such a good start to the season and a credit to Fitzy’s coaching and the girls commitment to listen and learn. So well done.
Our World Champion Open Men’s Crew from last season – with two changes from last year’s crew, ánd a little unsure on how things would go, they again surprised themselves finishing equal second on the day. A little more luck in the surf they would have done even better. Explosive off the start, they certainly illustrated still better is yet to come
The TGHN awesome Under 19’s – They were really the outstanding U/19 crew at the carnival – but a couple of unlucky waves going out to sea saw them come in second overall on the day. Again – just got better as the day went, on adapting to the tricky conditions at Terrigal, something they have not been used to rowing in training at TGHN.
Officials on the beach certainly spoke highly of how the TGHN crews went on the day.
Such a promising start in a highly competitive arena. All the TGHN SLSC Crews travel North shortly to Macksville
Scotts Head for the next round of the Streets series which will also include crews from Forster to Woolgoolga.
