If it is true and can be proven there is something terribly unsettling in the Department of Planning and Environment. If elected I would have this compulsory buy back made under a “No Win, No Loss” basis, for either part. Anything more would be seen as purer greed and social indifference on the part of the developers and the Department of Planning and Environment. Should this go ahead as it current is suggested, one of my first acts would be to lobby for a complete investigation into the original sale of the Mambo Wetlands by the Department of Education including the actions of the Department of Planning and Environment for potential inappropriately exercising its powers when dealing with the expenditure of public money’s. On the up side of Grants letter, at least we now know where the council learnt the skill of ignoring the fact and going against community sentiment comes from.
