ONE year has now passed since the horrendous fires impacted on parts of the Coffs Coast and surrounding areas, including the village of Nana Glen.
It’s worth it for your business.

So many people came forward and donated money and goods to brigades and, due to the generosity of so many people, the Boambee Rural Fire Station has undergone some major changes since the end of last year’s fire season.
A new plasterboard ceiling has been installed and painted along with recessed lighting. Add to this the installation of two air conditioning units and electric motors on the station’s two roller doors.
Dash cameras have been purchased and installed in both fire appliances.
A large sign with interchangeable lettering has also been erected outside the fire station and the community will be kept informed daily during the Bush Fire Danger Period, of current fire conditions, Fire Danger ratings, Total Fire Bans, when Fire Permits are suspended and other relevant and important fire warnings.
The brigade wishes to publicly acknowledge the following people and businesses for their generous donations.
Without them the renovations and purchases would not have been possible.
Russell Crowe; Park Beach Bowling Club; Sawtell RSL; Glenn and Kim Davidson; Helen Simpson; Norm and Helen Ray; Coles Supermarkets Australia; Hickson Plasterers; PlastaMasta Coffs Harbour; Toormina Refrigeration; PNE Electrical; Lindsay Transport; School of Fish Boambee; Ayrshire Park Management Committee and Axis Painting.
There were many other smaller donations of food and money, too many to list.
A special thanks to the students of Coffs Harbour High School who baked delicious cookies for the fire fighters which were a treat on the fireground.
Thank you, one and all.
