Almost 600 people attended the gala presentation ceremony, where the Chamber was recognised for its achievements in representing the Bulahdelah business community.
Accepting the award on behalf of the Chamber, President John Sahyoun thanked the local community for their support.
“The work of a volunteer organisation is no easy task, and getting to this point would have been impossible without the support of our community and the many organisations and individuals in our town,” he said.
“We have been challenged with multiple obstacles, and given our limited resources, we have done what many have considered impossible.”
The awards are regarded as Australia’s most prestigious regional business awards and were presented in 10 categories, with the University of Newcastle and Nelson Bay Bowling and Recreation Club amongst the winners.
North Coast Holiday Parks at Hawks Nest Beach was also recognised as a finalist for excellence in customer service.
Hunter Chamber CEO, Bob Hawes, said the awards recognise excellence across the region.
“The winners clearly demonstrate the superb work of organisations and individuals who are leading the way in making the Hunter a place where business and innovation thrive,” he said.
The Bulahdelah Chamber will now progress to the state finals which will be held in Sydney later this year.
