Erin grew up in Chicago and met her husband Geoff while they were both working at a Summer Camp in America. As her mum still lives in Chicago and they see each other as regularly as the distance allows, Erin said she is grateful to have the support of her mother-in-law Maureen. Maureen, who has four adult children and 12 grandchildren, said she thoroughly enjoys having an active role in their lives. In addition to working full time, keeping the house running and ferrying children around, like many mums, Erin is also heavily involved in the community. As one of the driving forces behind the Bulahdelah Junior Cricket Club, Erin said any spare time is devoted to fundraising, training sessions and organisation. “Community spirit is important as it brings together both younger and older generations,” she said. “I encourage my boys to be active within the community in hope that it will teach them the benefits of helping others and to be proud of where they come from.” On Sunday, Blake and Charlie hope everyone thanks their mothers and other special women in their lives, for the love and support they give.
