Dangerous Twine wrapped around mangrove roots at Hawks Nest beach

Dear News Of The Area,

SINCE I last wrote to News Of The Area, further erosion has occurred on The Boulevard.

Unearthed are more of the buried hay bale debris.

There are stacks of Cats Heads prickles and more hay bale wrapping twine.

It is in the water, along the beach and in some cases wrapping around objects including mangrove roots near the river mouth.

The twine is hazardous to wildlife and could easily strangle birds, crabs, fish, turtles and more.

I believe most decent people, regardless of their environmental beliefs or political persuasions, don’t want to see  entangled suffering wildlife.

I therefore presume for the benefit of all that the Council will be cleaning up this mess they have inadvertently created.

If they forget, I presume Marine Parks Officers will be investigating.

Just as they would investigate and possibly fine you or I if we deposited such material into the sea.
