Rudy Galea told News of The Area, “We have about 150 members and we meet every week for a few hours of dancing.” “We do a lot of line dancing, cha cha, partner dancing, we’re just a happy little club.” The Eagle Rockers have been going strong and growing in numbers for the past 11 years. “Anyone can join in and we meet at Wednesday night at the Stockton RSL.” Relative newcomer to the group, Kay Tomins said, “I’ve been doing it for a couple of months and I love it, it’s friendly and gives me a chance to go to town and go nuts.” Colin Ross and wife Helen, are members of the ‘Let’s Dance’ group from Port Macquarie and travelled to Tea Gardens to join in last week’s performance. “We go all over the place, dance takes us all over the country, we’re always travelling,” Ross said. The Eagle Rockers visit Estia Health two or three times a year to give a demonstration of their dancing skills. “We love to do it,” Rudy said, “We also go to a number of other nursing homes and the residents really seem to enjoy it.” After their performance, what better way to kick back but with morning tea at Tillermans Restaurant. If you’d like to join the Eagle Rockers, just phone Rudy Galea on 0417 442 928 as new members are always welcome. By: Margie TIERNEY TILLERMANS RESTAURANT: Eagle Rockers enjoy morning tea.
