Changing COVID-19 restrictions have resulted in several modifications to plans, and, currently, the event will be held with slightly reduced numbers to meet protocols
Organisers stress that all of the features that have made the breakfast inspiring in the past continue.
The breakfast will be hosted by last year’s Coffs Coast Woman of the Year, Lily Isabella.
The awards include Woman of the Year, the Zonta Young Women In Public Affairs Award Winner and the International Women’s Day Award For A Young Woman In The Performing Arts.
The guest speaker this year is Dr Rosie Ross, who describes herself as a high school dropout, herbalist, registered nurse, indigenous doctor, Practice Principal of a thriving medical centre, mentor, medical educator and speaker, storyteller and upcoming author.
She will talk about dealing with the discovery of being part of the Stolen Generations in her thirties, being a mother of three and being motivated to go back to high school in her mid-forties and graduating with a medical degree in her early fifties when many of her friends were planning early retirement.
Dr Ross has a long history of choosing to challenge social norms.
She has co-authored an upcoming book with Joanne Vines called ‘Approaching the Pause’.
The book is driven by Dr Ross’ passion to empower women to make informed decisions regarding their own health and well-being.
Her mission is to change the narrative surrounding how women navigate the years leading into menopause to enter what is potentially the most powerful phase of their life.
