Chairman of the Stroud Community Lodge, John Bowen, has been nominated within the Great Lakes 2015 Australia Day Awards as Citizen of the Year.
John has spent three decades years chairing meetings at the aged care facility, as well as driving the lodge bus.
He is also involved with the restoration of the cenotaph at Stroud.
John said he is happiest when he is helping others.
“I’m just an ordinary man who has helped people all my life,” he said.
“To be nominated for this is a very humbling experience.”
