In November 2014, Jordyn lost her grandad to lung cancer.

She was a couple of months off turning seven and he had just turned 59.

She had witnessed her grandad go through chemotherapy and struggle for months with the illness.

Jordy had a special bond with her Grandad and keeps a photo of him on her bedside table.

Her family report that Jordyn has a very loving nature, always wanting to lend a helping hand, or be the first to offer a kind word if somebody is upset.

After her Grandad passed, Jordyn approached her mother and told her she had decided that she wanted to grow her hair and donate it to kids who have cancer and lose their hair.

She had been growing her hair for two-and-a-half years when she decided this week that it was time for the cut.

Her hair will be donated to Variety, and they will then send it to the wig makers.

Kirsty Creed from KLC’s Hair in Medowie donated the cut and blow dry for Jordyn.

Jordyn decided straight after the cut was finished that she would like to grow her hair again so she can repeat the process in another couple of years.

When asked why she wanted to donate her hair, Jordyn told News Of The Area, “Because Grandad had cancer and I wanted to try to help kids that have cancer, so that if they lose their hair they can have my hair and not feel left out at school.”

“Then kids will still play with them and not treat them differently.”
