IN anyone’s language it’s a long way from their Hawks Nest training ground in Yamba Street to Sydney Olympic Park.

So it was with plenty excitement and a little anxiety that 10-year-old Tyler Rodgers and 12-year-old Lilly-Anne White made the journey recently to compete in the NSW State Little Athletics competition.

The pair had both picked up medals at their Regionals meet in February to qualify for State.

Little Athletics President Ngaire White told News Of The Area, “Lilly-Anne came 21st with a personal best of 4.08 metres in the Under 12 Long Jump.”

“Tyler Rogers in the Under 10s competed in the 60 metre hurdles, finishing seventh in his heat and coming in 22nd overall in the State, just running shy of a personal best.”

Ngaire said, “They both enjoyed the experience and competition that State level has to offer.”

“Well done guys, awesome job.”

It was a great way to end the season for the Myall Coast Little Athletics.

Just a couple of housekeeping issues to go.

Their AGM will kick off a Presentation Ceremony which will be held at Tea Gardens Country Club on Sunday 9 April from 10.30am.

“There are plenty of committee roles needed to be filled and anyone interested in seeing our local centre move forward is encouraged to attend,” Ngaire said.
