A man has escaped injury after being rescued from a cliff in the Blue Mountains National Park yesterday.
Police have been told about 12.30pm (Saturday 6 September 2014), a 46-year-old man was trail running on Mount Portal alone when he slipped and fell several hundred metres, falling onto a small ledge.
Due to risk of falling further, the man was unable to climb to safety.
About 2.30pm, two men were on a boat on the Nepean River below when they heard the man calling out for help.
Emergency services were called and established the location of the man a short time later.
About 4pm, officers attached to Blue Mountains Police Rescue, with the assistance of Polair, assisted the man to safety.
The man was not injured during the incident.
