The Hunter Valley Open in August and the Newcastle Open earlier in September were the first tournaments for many of the Medowie Kickboxers.
Despite their lack of experience, they came away with a very impressive medal tally.
The small yet talented team returned with ten gold, six silver, five bronze, and two fourth places.
Not bad for a team consisting of only twelve members.
Even more impressive is the fact that the current star of the team is a pocket rocket five year old by the name of Jack Blue.
Jack has ten other competitors in his local age division, but so far, none of them can handle Jack.
After three tournaments so far this season, Jack is undefeated.
“He is just blowing the competition out of his way,” Coach Daniel Bezuidenhout told News Of The Area.
“We’ve also had a few kids receive special medals recently because of their outstanding performances as well.”
After hanging up his gloves in South Africa 11 years ago, Coach Daniel decided to lead by example and start fighting again.
He also did not disappoint, and had two out of two tournament wins.
