From all reports from students, families and staff, it was a day full of laughter, smiles and good clean, well rainbow, fun.

The whole school came together to assist the Medowie Public School P&C to organise the event, with lots of hard work all round to pull it all together.

Melissa Skaines from Medowie Public School P&C told News Of The Area, “The idea was just to give the kids some fun, and we thought what better way then letting them get covered in water and rainbow chalk!”

“We organised it with the Australian Fundraising Company who helped immensely and were very open in guiding us in our first colour run.”

“The day was a hit, every kid had fun and they have already starting asking for the next one!” she said.

The students all created individual profiles for the colour run, and set fundraising goals to reach in order to win specific prizes.

Terrie Brennan from Medowie Public School told News Of The Area, “We have many people to thank for helping us out including our local supermarkets Coles and Woolworths for donating the bottles of water for all the children.”

“We couldn’t have run such a successful event without the many helpers on the day, who set up the obstacle course, and sprayed the children with water and chalk.”

“I am pretty sure there were a number of teachers and volunteers who also got accidentally chalked!” she said.

With all the families who got involved in setting up online profiles and cash donations, the school was able to raise a substantial amount of money which will go back into the school to purchase much needed educational equipment.
