MidCoast Business Chamber and Business NSW bring the Bigger Backyard program to MidCoast region

Big 4 Myall River is being supported through the Bigger Backyard program.

THE Bigger Backyard is the MidCoast Business Chamber’s newest initiative to help support the local economy after over two years of business disruption from bushfires, COVID-19, floods and lockdowns.

Bigger Backyard MidCoast is a business-to-business program which includes a number of live online webinars to help businesses address current challenges.

This is a joint initiative of MidCoast Business Chamber and Business NSW.

Paul Fellowes is excited to bring this initiative to the MidCoast region after successful programs in the Northern Rivers and the Central Coast.

“Bigger Backyard began in the Northern Rivers Region as an economic recovery program designed to connect local businesses and asking them to make a pledge to bring a purchase they would normally make out of the area back into the region, the success of the program led to Business NSW looking to introduce it into other areas.

“The second region was the Central Coast and the Central Coast program was equally successful, generating a pledge value of $30 million per year and an overall economic impact of $90 million per year.”

Bigger Backyard will help to support local businesses, whilst connecting them with like minded others and providing resources to help them grow.

“For local MidCoast Businesses, the Bigger Backyard gives them an opportunity to find and connect with other like-minded businesses in the area and make a commitment to do business together to create a stronger MidCoast.

“The Bigger Backyard app, which is a part of the program, will make it easy to find local businesses and services and connect with them seamlessly,” Mr Fellowes said.

With TV business support sessions to support local businesses by addressing challenges that are currently being faced by the local businesses, and a series of live webinars that feature local experts with practical takeaways, Bigger Backyard is looking forward to working with local businesses across the Myall Coast.
