Moonee Beach Hotel reopens under new ownership

Hugh Gillroy shared his excitement to further embrace the local community.

THE Moonee Beach Hotel reopened its doors last Monday under new ownership following an initial refreshment program and a change in name from the Moonee Beach Tavern to the Moonee Beach Hotel.

The new owners are no strangers to the Coffs Coast who also operate the popular Toormina Hotel and Sawtell Hotel.

General Manager Hugh Gillroy shared his excitement to further embrace the local community.

“Moonee Beach Hotel is an exciting addition to our evolving Coffs Coast footprint.

“It already has such a great reputation in the local area and we’re looking forward to continuing to evolve the offer and take the venue to the next level.

“We’re excited to further immerse ourselves in this local community that we love, engaging with the many sporting and family groups at its heart.

“The first change has been swapping the word Tavern for Hotel.

“Since its original inception it was a tavern, however we believe a Hotel is more appropriate for the community we will play a large role in – representing a focus on family and bringing together great food, drinks, sport and entertainment.

“We’re already working through an initial refreshment program, which includes some aesthetic enhancements to décor and signage and tweaks to the food and beverage offering.

“In time, we will look to make some more substantial upgrades to all areas of the hotel, continuing to evolve the brand and product offering to provide both local appeal and destination value.

“We are excited to offer new opportunities for those experienced in hospitality or perhaps those looking for a career change.

“We pride ourselves on our great training and development culture and look forward to further growing the team,” said Hugh.

The initial refreshment program has started at the bar.
