Outgoing President Barbara Lyle leaving with an outstanding ten-year tenure recalled many notable events particularly Chorale concerts, Art and Photographic exhibitions referring to progress that has occurred during her time as President also handing thank you cards to many devoted committee members and volunteers.
Barbara also thanked in particular Ann Scully from the News Of The Area.
U3A stands for University of the Third Age. U3A is a university in the original sense of the word: a community of people devoted to learning. Myall U3A is 26 years young and currently has 257 members.
Notable elected representatives on the day include President Norman Hawkes, Vice President Roger Digby, Secretary Sonja Ridden and Treasurer Liz Swane.
Myall U3A meet every Friday involving both guest speakers and member participation in presentations representing both current events as well as a wide range of topics.
Newly elected President Norman Hawkes said,” Members may be here to catch up on aspirations, I have enjoyed being a consumer of the entertainment and education that previously I may have missed out on, here and now it is education for its own sake and I look forward to another great U3A year.”
Daughter Catherine Moore accepted a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of her mother Life Member Pat Foyle for her outstanding contributions to Myall U3A.
