SPECTRUM Playzone in Anna Bay offers a special service for babies through to preschoolers.
Mothers-to-be are more than welcome too, as are parents, grandparents, guardians and carers.
Located at Spectrum Church, 4310 Nelson Bay Road, Playzone runs each Friday during the school term from 9:30am to 11:30am.
As of 16 February, they we will also be offering Thursdays during the same hours.
The facility has a brand new playground that opened at the end of last year, specifically designed for children up to five years.
They also have a newly refurbished air-conditioned indoor room, with a range of toys and activities, which was funded and built by church members, along with donations and support from local businesses.
Each session involves free play, morning tea time, and either craft or storytime.
The favourite activity is music time which consists of interactive songs for both parents and kids, with instruments and actions.
During Term 1, and the hotter months, fortnightly water play activities will be available.
Spectrum Playgroup is not-for-profit with all money raised goes toward supporting mothers and their babies in Arusha, Tanzania.
This is a Compassion Australia sponsorship through their Child Survival Program.
Andrea Finch, mother of Lyric, two, and Indigo, six months, said, “The team at PlayZone are outstanding, and from our first visit we were made to feel very welcome.”
“The ladies are all lovely and will do anything to help you out should you need it.”
“Great friendships, a good chat and the support network you need means I honestly can’t wait for each Friday to roll around,” she said.
Kirralee Parsons, leader of PlayZone and mother to Beau, four, told News Of The Area, “Everyone is very welcome at Spectrum Playzone.”
“We love meeting new people, and invite anyone to join us on Thursday and Friday mornings.”
“It’s a great opportunity to meet new people in a relaxed and caring environment that is filled with fun, creativity and friendship for the kids,” she said.
