PORT Stephens Greens welcomed the demise single use plastic bags by handing out recyclable multi-use paper bags outside Woolworths at Salamander Bay last Wednesday (20 June).

Greens Representative Robyn Williams told News Of The Area, “We welcome Woolworth’s decision to stop supplying single use bags as a first step towards a much greater reduction in use of plastics.”

“We look forward to Coles also stopping the supply of single use bags at the end of this month,” said Robyn.

Port Stephens Greens will be again be giving away free paper bags on 1 July at selected Coles stores in Port Stephens.
