MEMBER for Port Stephens Kate Washington is encouraging local community groups to apply for the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Grant.
In 2015 there were 12 successful groups in Port Stephens who received a combined total of approximately $300,000.
This includes Anna Bay Public School who used their $25,620 grant to complete the schools infants playground, which was recently opened by Kate Washington.
Other 2015 recipients were Port Stephens Women’s Crisis & Support Group Inc, Hawks Next Bridge Club, Karuah Public School P&C, Medowie Football Club and Fingal Bay Surf Life Saving Club.
Speaking with News Of The Area, Ms Washington said, “I have recently met with a number of the 2015 recipients and inspected the new equipment and facilities this grant has funded. It is fantastic to see local groups successfully applying for funding and seeing their efforts come to fruition.”
“I encourage all local groups who think they are eligible to apply for this grant funding”, this grant program is an excellent opportunity for local groups to fund much needed upgrades and repairs.” she said.
Applications for the 2016 Community Building Partnership Grant opened 13 June and close 5pm 22 July 2016.
To be eligible to apply a group must be incorporated & not-for-profit, apply for funding for capital works (infrastructure) or for equipment that will last 5+ years, apply for a minimum of $2,500.
