The info night was attended by over 100 and there’s already been such fantastic support from the Anna Bay community – I’m confident the Makeover is not only going to kick-start some amazing change for Anna Bay, but also inspire other communities in Port Stephens to work in partnership with Council in creating places for people. Our keynote speaker was the enigmatic Michael McQueen, trend forecaster, author and award-winning speaker. Michael spoke to us about disruption and how all of us – especially businesses – need to be prepared for inevitable change in order to survive. From the rise in automation, to increasing customer expectations and emerging generations, the threats to business are real and they’re coming fast. Here in Port Stephens we have a smart and supportive business community and Port Stephens Council is committed to supporting business and driving economic benefit through tourism and economic development. The winds of change may be coming fast but, as a community, I know we will weather them together and continue to thrive as one of the most vibrant and naturally beautiful places in Australia.
