Port Stephens pulled off a win against Newcastle City in the Div 1 U/11’s game and their U/13’s won against Lake Macquarie.
Mel Nelson from Port Stephens Power JAFC told News Of The Area “I personally would like to put a thank you out to all the parents and children helpers who helped out throughout the day, some being there all day.”
Round two took place last weekend on the 9 April,
The games played saw some hard fought games, during which the fast growing comradeship of the Port Power club was displayed at a high standard.
The U/13’s also took away a win against Wallsend.
Ms Nelson told News Of The Area “We’ve had a great start to the 2017 season, we couldn’t be happier.”
“Training is on Tuesday nights through the holidays, and the committee would like to wish all players, their families and the community a safe and happy Easter.”
The fixtures for the remainder of the season will be set after the Easter long weekend, and the club encourage anyone to come along and join them at their games to cheer the juniors along.
