THERE was an exodus of caravanners and campers from the Port Stephens Probus Club as 44 members headed off together in convoy to Port Macquarie.

No stone was left unturned with visits to Sea Acres Rainforest Walk and Café, wine tasting and lunch at Cassegrain Winery and back to base for the first round of the boule’ run by the Guru of Boule’, George Hammond.
The group visited Wauchope Farmers Market, followed by Ricardos Tomatoes & Strawberries for tour and lunch.
More boule’ were played and then everyone gathered for the very popular cocktail party run by Phil, John Rebrik and JT.
The Happy Hour room overlooked the river and was a very pleasant time of day to be sipping cocktails and chatting to friends.
Then it was up and off to the Maritime Museum Artists Market, a guided tour of the Koala Hospital which was a very interesting visit.
The hotly contested boule’ finals won by John Townsend and Ken White in the mem’s pairs and Cathy Lindsay and Ann Gibson in the ladies.
“There was lots of encouragement and advice from the sidelines,” she said.
There was also trivia with Quiz Master, Brenda and hilarious entertainment on the side by Russel.
Unfortunately the weather closed in and the visit to the Astronomical Observatory had to be abandoned so back it was more happy hour and bbq dinner.
Everyone celebrated the journey with a huge last day with the traditional Big Aussie Breakfast organized by Ann & Carol.
Then it was time for a river cruise with fish and chips delivered to the boat at halfway point. The grand finale was a ‘Last Supper’ at Westport Bowling Club where President David thanked Phil and Petah for their huge effort and others who had contributed to the activities.
