The Probus Club of Port Stephens has finished off 2016 with its annual Christmas Luncheon at Soldiers Point Bowling Club.
104 members and guests enjoyed Christmas fare and lots of fun and fellowship.
The function room was decorated in a festive red and silver theme and one highlight of the day was the Lucky Attendance Draw where 20 people won a Christmas ham.
A special welcome was extended to 103-year-old member Cyril Blowes and wife Patti.
“At 103, Cyril still makes an effort to attend most of the Probus meetings and always attends the two special luncheons of the year,” Ann Gibson, publicity officer, told Bay News Of The Area.
“Another important end of year event is the finals of the Snooker Championships and presentation dinner,” Mrs Gibson said.
This group of Probus men, led by Dave Lingard, play every Tuesday and their fun and friendship is highly evident.
The Champion for 2016 is Pete Curry and runner-up Malcolm Craddock.
Most improved went to a very excited Roy Gambell and Encouragement Award to Kevin Lewis.
26 players and partners enjoyed a great night at The Wharf Restaurant to celebrate.
