THE ageing wire fence along the front of Medowie Public School has seen better days.
With their new look digital sign, Medowie PS wants to replace their old fence with a new, colourbond picket fence, keeping in style with the community based, country feel of the school.
The school has come up with an ingenious way to raise the funds, with their new ‘purchase a picket’ fundraiser.
For a small fee, families and businesses can purchase a picket and mark a place for their family or business on the new fence.
Families can purchase a picket for $20, which will include a small plaque attached with the donor details.
Businesses can purchase the ‘Business Benefit Bundle’ for $100.
This package includes a one year (twice per term) of advertising in the school newsletter with an A6 advertisement and ten weeks of digital advertising on the school LED sign at the front of the school on Ferodale Road with their logo appearing on weekdays between 2:30-3:30pm after the installation of the fence.
Medowie Public School contacted News Of The Area to help get the word out there about this clever fundraising idea, with P&C Vice President and parent, Angela Parish saying, “The best thing about this fundraiser is that anyone in the community can be involved and help support our school.”
“The perfect community activity for a community minded school – purchase a picket, and have your name added to the fence,” she said.
