Robbie arrived at Roy Wood Reserve in her pyjamas in the early hours to ensure she had the spot she wanted and was able to set up the tables, balloons and decorations.
She said, that “Even before the event had officially started strangers had donated a whopping $150.”
People out walking their dogs, or on an early morning stroll, stopped by and gave support, this left Robbie feeling incredible that strangers would do such a thing, and she’d like to say a massive thank you to them.
Robbie’s goal of raising $1,000 was exceeded beyond any expectation, at the last count she was up to $2,500.
She told News Of The Area, “There is no nice cancer, I feel you have to try and keep a positive attitude.”
“I have come to realise, that every single person has been touched by cancer, it knows no boundaries.”
When interviewed prior to the shave, Robbie said, “I’m not nervous, I’m happy to do this and I’m overwhelmed with the love and support I’ve received from everyone.”
After the shave she said, “I’m literally jumping for joy, I feel exhilarated, happy and it’s a great feeling.”
Robbie would like to thank the following who gave generously towards the event, KD Hair Design for cutting her hair on the day, Justin Poole for the entertainment, Quirky designs, Good Foods at Salamander Bay, and McCauley’s Bottle Shop for their donations.
