Spectators have been marvelling at the vibrant scenes on the Bay and around the heads as the fleet has sailed past in this years’ event.
The yachts have dealt with a range of conditions including what is described as glassy and some very light breezes.
Roger Yeo local sailor and spokesperson and past Commodore of the Port Stephens Yacht Club told News Of The Area, “The annual Sail Port Stephens regatta has once again blessed us with great weather, better sailing and lots of fun and camaraderie among old and new sailing friends.
“Besides the obvious economic boost for our community we also have this opportunity to showcase beautiful Port Stephens and its incredible sailing environment … certainly the best in NSW and likely one of the best in the country.”
The event has many different facets including social ones that sit alongside the competitive sailing.
“Port Stephens Yacht Club enjoys participating in the regatta every year with about 10 local entries and lots of volunteers from the club that love helping make this event the success it has become famous for.
“On behalf of Bill Haskell, Commodore of PSYC, we welcome all visitors here to enjoy the sailing and good times and thank you for coming! Fair winds!” he said.
The final results are not in on the racing as yet but the Bay can safely say that Sail Port Stephens has been a spectacular event once again.
