It is here, where more Seniors choose to live out their golden years.
Swapping city life for sea changes and tree changes.
There are many groups within the community that offer creative outlets for the community and the Seaside Singers is just one of many however it is one that shares the joy regularly with its seniors members and the seniors community.
The Seaside Singers are holding their tenth annual Seniors’ Concert in the Bay, this year with the theme “As Time goes By.”
Jeanette Antrum told News Of The Area, “The concert, is to be held in the SeaScapes Room at Soldiers Point Bowling Club, from 2.00pm on Friday, 21 February, and it will feature the title song and some other well-known oldies, as well as a sprinkling of some catchy newer ones.”
Importantly the Seaside Singers are offering attendance at their annual free Seniors’ Festival Week Concert and Afternoon Tea for 100 Seniors over the age of 60.
Those wishing to attend will need to register early to ensure your place.
You can register by ringing Jeanette on 0418266393, or by sending her an email at email@example.com .
Seniors are invited to come along and sing along.
If you enjoy singing the choir is in recruitment mode, there are no auditions required, just a love of singing and the ability to sing in tune.
The rewards of participation are huge.
Members meet new friends, reduce the loneliness caused by social isolation and experience how wonderful it feels to sing with others.
The Seaside Singers meet at the Community Centre at Tomaree every Tuesday night for 2 hours from 7.00pm.
The SeaSide Singers are also looking to appoint a new Music Director to start with the choir from the beginning of March, 2020.
Enthusiastic musicians or music students are invited to contact Jeanette for more information about the position.
Music and conducting experience is desirable, but not essential for this non volunteer role.
