
“WE had a great year and we’re a family.”
That’s how Karuah Roos Grand Final winning Coach-Captain Dwayne Fleming summed up his team’s performance at last Friday’s Presentation night.

Players, family, friends and supporters all gathered at the Karuah RSL for a sit down dinner and a night of celebration.
“We started off the year with 5 sets of brothers in the team, but we’re all brothers now,” Dwayne told the News Of The Area.
As for the awards, Josh Simms won most Tries with 23, Rookie of the Year went to Nathan Ritzau.
Coaches Award to Tim Johnson and Dylan Foley Rising Star.
Players Player went to Ben Langdon, Jack Croese won Best & Fairest.
Daniel Evans was awarded Players Player Runner Up,Mitch O’Bryan took first.
Sam Croese won highest points and Best Back, Best Forward went to Matt Croese.
The Club Man Award went to William Evans. Sonja Evans was also recognised for her work as Club Secretary.
As for next year, Dwayne Fleming says he won’t be coaching and he’ll take some time to think about whether he’ll play again.
“I’m not injured, it’s age,” he said with a big smile.
“I’ll be 41 next week.”
The Roos 24 -20 victory over the Hinton Hornets, was the first Grand Final victory for a Roos side since 1975.
