St Philip’s Christian College’s 2017 House Captains
REPRESENTATIVES for the Sports Captains of St Philip’s Christian College took time out of their busy day to share some insight into why they put their hand up for the position.
Maddie Brennan, Year 11, Fingal House.
“I will be focussing on the students who normally stand back, my aim is to encourage them to have a go which I feel will increase their confidence to try.”
Matt Wright, Year 11, Birubi House.
“My intention is to get more younger students to participate in sports, hopefully to increase their confidence and to show how to run the house by example, and I hope to inspire the next person who will take on the position when I pass it down.”
Hamish McKenna, Year 8, Zenith House.
“I want to lead my house, we didn’t have a good run last year and being a swimmer, we have a strong presence in swimming events however, I want us to lead in many other events too.”
Zali McDowell, Year 8, Birubi House.
“I want to lead my house with pride and I also want to make sure everyone can compete as much as possible and to encourage as many students as I can to join in.”
