JAKE Horsey started racing Go Karts in 2011, aged nine, and has already chalked up some impressive accomplishments.
Jake now holds a competition race license run by Karting Australia and New South Wales Karting.
He is a member of the Newcastle Kart Club, beginning first in 2011 in Cadets, before moving to Rookies, and Juniors where he now competes.
Jake won the Championship of Newcastle in 2015.
When he competed in an unrestricted class in the 2016 NSW Championships, he was competing at a high level and setting an enviable pace for the first two rounds, but had to withdraw from the last round due to injury.
Jake told News Of The Area, “All being well, I will be competing in the NSW state titles soon, which is three rounds.”
“I am really looking forward to this competition,” he said.
Jake is also on the lookout for local sponsors to help him to keep up with the demands of his competition schedule.
Jake said “As we are getting more competitive I would like to race more often to help compete at a higher level with better and more experienced drivers.”
“As we spend every weekend at the track practicing for races, I need to be able to go to other tracks to get more experience.
“All this time adds more expense for tyres, fuel, parts, fees, travel, and we camp at tracks to save money on accommodation,” he said.
Local businesses are offered the opportunity to advertise their business on Jake’s transporter or on his kart.
The advertising position on Jake’s Kart may be of particular interest to a business, as Jake is an avid Gopro fan, and the sponsor would be visible in his videos of each race that he loads to YouTube.
There is also the option for advertising on shirts and other racing items.
Jake said “Any financial support will be greatly appreciated to help me achieve my dream.”
Jake can be contacted via email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
