It is a time for everyone to remember the blood that has been shed, and the tears that flowed freely throughout the war. As a symbolic gesture, the people of Stroud are having a service where a ‘tree blessing’ of a white magnolia will be planted and a plaque will be placed, which will read “For those who died and those who cried”. The Stroud Lions Club are inviting everyone to come and share the day, which will start at 10.45am at Allen Park, Lowrey Street Stroud on Sunday the November 11 to help them mark this special occasion. Everyone is encouraged to bring a chair, blanket and a plate to share with the whole community, so that they are able to be a part of the jubilations.
