It’s been a busy time for the Art and Craft centre members, who recently held their annual Open Day to show off their skills and the Centre’s many and varied facilities. It’s a veritable ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ for those wanting to learn a new skill or create a work of art. As an example said Janette Coppock, “The Centre has a fully equipped woodwork room with several wood turning lathes as well as a carpentry workshop.” “There are several long term members able to assist any new members wishing to have a go.” “Whether it be turning a wooden bowl or doing a few ‘handyman jobs’ everyone is welcome.” “The wood turning group already has a few ladies exploring the art of woodturning,” Ms Coppock said.
