Yet another display of local generosity took place at the Tea Gardens Country Club on Monday 25 May.
Bev Giggins and Sue Stewart Dempsey got their heads together to hold ‘The Biggest Morning Tea’ during the regular Bingo morning at the Club.
The event became a morning tea and luncheon with players bringing plates of food and local businesses donating vouchers and prizes.
“When we filled out the application initially we put an estimate of $200 as the amount to be raised,” Bev said.
“We’ve been overwhelmed with the response as we have raised over $1300 with more donations coming in every day.”
A big thank you also goes out to Fay Giggins and Cheryl Sutton for their work on the day and to Club Manager Warren Gooley for his assistance in holding the fundraiser at the Club.
Once more our community has come to the party to assist a group in need.
The NSW Cancer Council is a very worthy cause and THANK YOU to everyone who attended and assisted on the day especially the local businesses who donated prizes.
