A game of Pairs and three games of Triples was the format for play. Dorothy Thompson and Wendy Brand found their form on the 7th end scoring four shots and gaining the lead from Dianne Kiss and Karen McPhie. The game remained even, the score on the 11th end Wendy 10 v Karen 9. Unfortunately Dianne and Karen only added 1 shot to their score over the next 10 ends. The victors were Dorothy and Wendy 20 v 10. An even contest on Rink 3 with Dawn May, Pam Gilchrist, Lynda Richards and Kayelene Pearson narrowly claiming victory 16 v 15 against Jean Glover, Dorothy Dallas, Kathie Rimmer and Maynie Roberts. Kathy Stone, Bev Dunn, Julie Kennedy and Elizabeth Kelly held the lead all the way in their match winning against Francis Betar, Carol Hayden, Bev Stephens and Wendy Jones 24 to 10. Pauline Perry, Bette Saillard, Jill McBride and Nola Jackson were holding their own up until the 9th end. Not sure what happened here but Dawn Jones, Wilma Drake, Lily Smith and Dale Winter added 15 points to their score over the next 8 ends compared to 1 point added by the opposition. The final result Dale’s team 23 v Nola’s team 7. Congratulations to Dale’s team who were the over all winners for the day. Due to insufficient players social bowls was cancelled on Thursday 27 July. Eight players enjoyed a “roll up”. Just 14 ends played a game of Fours.
