Weather conditions on Tuesday 29 November were to say the least “a bowler’s worst nightmare” with strong south-easterly winds blowing at about 25km per hour with wind gusts up to 33km per hour. Two games of fours and two games of threes were played the winners with a win plus ends being Robyn Beaumont, Karen Green, Dale Winter and Maynie Roberts. On Thursday 1 December, just a small group of bowlers turned up for bowls. Rain was falling and play was nearly called off, but luckily it wasn’t and soon after the commencement of play the rain eased off and the sun shone. Format for the day was a game of triples and a game of fours. The winners were Francis Betar, Olive McKeown and Elizabeth Kelly with a win plus ends. Sunday 4 December twenty four bowlers from the Sunday Bowlers, (Introduction to Bowls) travelled to Dungog for a game of bowls and lunch with the Dungog Travelling Bowlers. A great day was had by all, good company, fun bowls and an enjoyable lunch. Thanks to Robyn Webster for organising the trip and to Ron Webster for driving us all there in the Tea Gardens Country Club bus.
