Thank to all the ladies who were markers and the umpires for this competition, your help is much appreciated. There was no social bowls played. A big welcome to our newest member Kayelene Pearson who has transferred from Tuggerah Bowling Club. Best wishes for your birthday Jill McBride.

Congratulations to Vicki Rankin for her great effort, representing our club at the Annis Young Versatility Competition played on 27th-28th September. In the semi finals Vicki was in a losing position but she fought back scoring 10 points on each of the last two ends. The finals proved an equally tough game with a draw, Vicki being defeated on a tiebreaker. Well done Vicki, a great achievement.

Friday 7th October: Oncology Day, Tea Gardens Women’s Bowling Club annual event to raise money for the Mater Calvary Newcastle Hospital.

A great day was had by all who attended. Bowls, lunch, a tombola and an auction. This day is only possible due to the generosity of our local businesses and clubs who donated products and gift vouchers for the tombola, a heartfelt thank you to them. Also a big thank you to those members of the Women’s Bowling Club who donated gifts and to the ladies of the Executive Committee, Social Committee and all who helped out to make this day a success. Club President Robyn Webster presented a cheque for $6000 to Mater Calvary Newcastle Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. What a great community we live in.
