Teen charged after deputy principal assaulted at Blaxland

Police have arrested four teens and charged one after a deputy principal was assaulted at a school in Blaxland yesterday.

About 1pm (Monday 15 September 2014), police from Blue Mountains Local Area Command received information that students from a school out of the area were allegedly attending a school in Blaxland to fight.

Officers attended the school on Coughlan Road, Blaxland, and the school was locked down.

About 2.20pm, four teenage girls were found in the school that were not students of the school. The deputy principal asked them to leave and one of the girls allegedly punched the deputy.

Police arrested the girl, aged 14, she was taken to Springwood Police Station.

She was charged with common assault, assault police, resist arrest and behave in an offensive manner in school. She was given bail to appear at a children’s court on Monday 20 October 2014.

Three other girls, two aged 14 and one 13, ran from officers out of the school and onto the rail corridor towards Glenbrook station.

They were arrested and taken to Springwood Police Station and released pending further inquires.
