Have you ever wanted to enter a Triathlon but find it all a little daunting.
‘TRY A TRI,’ a fun sized Triathlon, has been designed for people who are relatively new to the sport or who would just like to give it a ‘try’.
Tomaree Tri Club’s event begins on Saturday 10 December 7am -9am with the assembly point being opposite the Soldiers Point Bowling Club.
The cost of the event is $10 (a non-Triathlon Australia member would usually be $20 which gives you the opportunity to race up to three races a season before needing to join).
The event begins with a 250m swim with water safety from Birubi Life Saving Club, followed by an 11km cycle on a flat course finishing with a 3km run on a flat course.
Participants must bring swim suit, goggles and cap (although there will be spares on the day), a bike and helmet as well as running shoes.
“Some people may have had a triathlon on their bucket list and have never had the opportunity to try a triathlon and this event will give them the chance,” Brett Cook, a spokesman for the Tomaree Tri Club, told News Of The Bay.
“Participating in a triathlon gives you a sense of achievement and it can quickly become addictive as well as gaining you lots of self confidence,” Mr Cook said.
There will be many experienced Triathletes available on the day for any questions you may have, encouraging you to come back and race regularly at other future events.
Registrations can be made via the club’s website at www.tomareetriclub.org.au
