Tea Gardens Women’s Bowling Club
TUESDAY 14 March: surprise, surprise bowls cancelled due to rain.
A good number of ladies did turn up for a game of bowls, but unfortunately the heavens opened up and end of story.
Club President Robyn Webster announced that we will be reverting back to our normal starting time of 10.00am. Fees to be paid by 9.15am.
Pennant season commences on Tuesday 21 March continuing till 8 May when the finals commence.
Social bowls will still be played every Tuesday and Thursday, weather permitting.
There will be an at home competition with prize money awarded to five lucky winners at the end of the competition.
Points will be awarded for attendance at games and for winning.
Pennant season begins on the 21 March.
Tea Gardens Women’s Bowling Club has two teams participating this year. In Grade 2 the teams are Robyn Beaumont, Vicki Rankin, Lynne Green and Kayelene Pearson. Robyn Webster, Karen Green, Dale Winter and Maynie Roberts.
Grade 3 Kerry Faber, Karen McPhie, Wendy Brand and Nola Jackson. Sandra Leisemann, Sheril Johnson, Wendy Jones and Liz Kelly.
Good luck ladies, bring home another flag for our flag pole.
Thursday 16 March: Sadly, no social bowls yet again, due to rain.
Fingers crossed play will go ahead next Tuesday.
Congratulations Francis Betar, Karen McPhie, Pam Gilchrist, Karen Green and Lynda Richards, who successfully completed the Marker, Measurer and Umpire Course ( I am not sure if I should be congratulating myself).
I have to recommend this course to anyone who is seriously interested in bowling.
It is good for the club to have members who are qualified in this aspect of the game. Thanks to the Women’s Bowls NSW Regional Umpire Educators Vicki Rankin and Robyn Lewis who conducted the course.
Not only are these two both great bowlers but they do know every rule in the book.
Hopefully next article will contain results from games played.
