The North Arm Cove YESS committee will be holding an Aussie Bush Lunch commencing at noon on Saturday 29 August at the North Arm Cove Community Hall.
This event is to raise awareness of the Youth Encouragement Sport Support (YESS) project that will be providing an annual subsidy of $100 to local children when they commence high school.
The aim of this community initiative is to encourage young students to take up sporting activities and the grant will be used specifically for the purchase of sporting equipment or clothing.
You don’t have to be a resident of North Arm Cove to attend – bring the family along for a good old Aussie lunch of meat pies and mushy peas, sausage rolls, potatoes in their jackets with all the trimmings and roast beef and gravy sandwiches.
For dessert, choose from Lamingtons or apple pie with cream or ice cream. Coffee, tea and soft drinks will be provided, or BYO drinks.
There’s plenty to keep you entertained too, with Adam Price from Blue Water Cowboys and our own Bob Bush, the Aussie bush poet to regale you with tall tales and true.
If you want to really get into the Aussie spirit, come dressed in bush gear (optional). There will be a prize for best Aussie outfit. Raffles will also be held and drawn on the day.
Tickets $10 single adult or $25 families. For catering purposes, please RSVP to Joan Williams 4997 3438 or Wilma Greenway 4997 3476 asap.
