The access road and new carpark have been sealed and speed bumps added. On top of this the old play equipment has been demolished and a new adventure playground is now available for the children. It has been built close to the shelter shed. Linking pathways are also in place.

A new amenity block will be erected sometime in February, on the eastern side of the car park. The old block will be demolished.

Cr Steve Tucker said that with all of the public facilities being clustered on one side of the car park, it would be a much safer environment for the children.

“There will be no need now for them to run across the road anymore,” he said.

“The large open space created on the western side will be great for recreational games.”

The next improvements to this popular picnicking spot will be pathway construction from Billy’s Beach across in front of the boat ramp to the little creek. There will also be a rebuild of the boat ramp.
