A FUNDRAISER for Ovarian Cancer Research Australia was held recently by the Tea Gardens- Hawks Nest Lioness Club.
On Saturday 4 June approximately 100 people gathered at the Tea Gardens Hotel to eat, drink and be involved with raffles and auctions.
The weather was cold and wet outside but inside the hotel there were local shopkeepers and distributors setting up stalls and the attendees and Lionesses were warm and dry.
Vivienne Boyd is the President of the Lioness Club and commented that the Tea Gardens Hotel excelled itself with its staff helping the Lioness Ladies who did a fantastic job of serving food, tea and coffee.
Generous donations from local Real Estate Agents, store owners and private donations allowed for a range of raffles and an auction.

The auctioneer for the day was John Rumble from First National, Hawks Nest.
John Rumble coordinated 40 raffles and auctioned 10 bigger items.
At the end of the day over $3000 was raised for Ovarian Cancer Research Australia.
Vivienne Boyd commented,
“We had a lot of happy faces leaving the Tea Gardens Hotel asking when are you going to do this again?
I think this is an indication that we had a successful afternoon.”
The Lioness Club give many thanks to the donations and gifts given by businesses and individuals which allowed the day to be such a success.
