The Tea Gardens Foreshore Reference Group has held it’s first meeting with the new management of MidCoast Council.
On the agenda, the ongoing Jimmies Beach Restoration program and upcoming plans for the Tea Gardens Foreshore.
“We are assured that funds already allocated will not be affected by the council merger,” Reference Group spokesman Gordon Grainger, told The News Of The Area.
“We can also expect a new public wharf, a ferry passenger shelter and the Anzac Park clean up to be completed this financial year,” said Mr Grainger.
Also under discussion, the widening of 3 boat ramps and additional pontoon space suggested under the Boating Now program.
“The idea of a Reference group gives community a voice,” said Reference Group spokesman Gordon Grainger.
“There’s moves afoot to have one for Hawks Nest,” he added.
MidCoast Council is also hitting the road with a series of community meetings.
Interim General Manager Glenn Handford and key staff will be at the Bulahdelah School of Arts on Tuesday 8 November at 6pm and at the Tea Gardens Baptist Church on Wednesday 9 November 6pm.
