Along with having lots of fun dressing up and trick-or-treating this Halloween, 10-year-old Maggie Cunich from Bulahdelah will also be helping Guide Dogs Australia.
“I love going trick-or-treating and visiting neighbours, and over the last couple of years more and more people have been giving money instead of lollies,” she said.

“I love animals, so I’ve decided to donate any money I get while trick-or-treating to the Guide Dogs.”
Maggie, who has two dogs and two pet guinea pigs, is thrilled that dogs can be trained to help people who are blind or vision impaired.
“It takes about two years to train a guide dog and every bit of money will help in some way,” she said.
“Dogs are great, they love going for walks, playing with you and they will even sit on your feet and keep them warm on a cold day.”
Maggie has decided on a witch’s costume for Halloween this year and told News Of The Area the decorations are all under control.
“We definitely don’t need to worry about getting fake spiders or cobwebs, we have plenty of real ones around the house,” she said.
Halloween is celebrated annually on 31 October.
